Throwback Post: 90's Talk Shows.

It's true, I am a messy b*tch who lives for drama. Luckily for me, I know where I got my first hit of drama filled tv-- Jenny Jones, Ricki Lake, and Jerry Springer. The 90's and early 2000's were really the time to be alive. I'm talking sisters sleeping with their cousin's man, angsty kids who just wanted their mom to "shut up" and let them live and those people who got made fun of in their youth only to pop out looking amazing as an adult! I lived for these shows and the audience reaction because who else is going to hype you up on live tv?

Looking back, I don't think I was aware at how outrageous the guest descriptions were. And the ones that were suppose to be odd or weird (like the goth kids dressing how they wanted but their family wanting them to be "normal") are all a big mood now. Because I too don't know how to make guacamole, Ann!

I wonder sometimes where these people are today, like...somebody call up Oprah for a talk show themed Where Are They Now series ASAPedly! I also wonder if these kinds of shows would be as popular now as they were back then, but with social media all I see is fake storylines and somebody just trying to get put on so they can send you a Soundcloud link or show that they can cry on the spot by using Visine. And that's not to say that the people on these shows actually had the situations happening to them because it could've been as fake as The Hills, but I'm choosing ignorance and saying it was all real.

Interestingly enough I don't even have one memorable episode from either of these shows, but what I can vividly remember is B2K performing "Uh Huh" on Jenny Jones. It was love at first sight. I was Mrs. Druex Frederic just like that. Anyway though, I miss the messiness of 90's talk shows, the raw emotion, and dialogue it brought its viewers. Ahh the good ol' days.
