Throwback Post: 5 Things That Made Me Happy.

Not only did I completely miss Thursdays post, but is it still spooky season, Friday the 13th is today, we're on the heels of an eclipse and full moon, and I'm still in my sad girl bag feeling really lonely. So to offset that I decided to take a page from Gretchen Rubin's weekly newsletter and tell ya'll 5 things that made me happy this week.

 The Weather

This week was a great time for a non-outdoorsy girl like myself. Usually while at work I tend to be in shaded areas or avoid outside all together, but this week I was able to take a few moments during the work week and just breathe some fresh air. Was it a little cloudy out? Well, yes, but the cool air and nice breeze were so welcome!

Solo Date

I finally had my first solo date where I got dressed up, put on some make up and stepped out. This time it was for a Candlelight Concert series. If you've seen Bridgerton then you know they like to sneak in modern songs played over some strings and that's exactly what this was. The concert I attended was a tribute to one of the greatest performers of our time, Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter.

If I had any space in my phone you'd be looking at a video I took shocked that it was just 4 people playing and not an entire orchestra. They played some Destiny's Child songs, and some from each of her albums and ending the night with Cuff It! My favorites were XO, Bills Bills Bills, and If I Were A Boy. Just so beautifully played! I think they play other artists as well and are in different parts of the country! You can find out more info for your area on Fever Up
here.

Black Twitter

One thing about Black folk is we can joke about anything! This week for me at least it was the convos surrounding a video of a woman going on a date in Atlanta and ordering, then eating, 48 oysters along with other food afterward. When I tell you I was in TEARS reading some of the responses to this tweet! We are just such a fun community and I love that for us.

Amazon Prime Day Deals

I'm still trying to make this apartment a home and since Amazon had a random Prime Day sale, I was able to snag a TV stand I've been eyeing! It's usually priced between $80-105, but with this deal I was able to get it for 40. If you haven't learned anything else about me by now, please know that ya girl LOVES saving!

Catching Up With Friends

I've been struggling with the definition of friendship and what it looks like to me for a few years, but few have remained consistent and I spoke to a few this week! One to catch up on birthday festivities and the other to talk about birthday festivities! I don't think of myself as someone who likes talking (especially now that I'll be doing that all day for 9 hours a day during the week), but it's something childlike that happens when you're catching up with those solid few.

Well, that's all for now...byeee!
