A Birthday Message.

Hi me,

I’m writing a letter to you to read whenever because 1) it’s your birthday and 2) right now you’re sitting on a beach in Curaçao as 3pm approach’s, which is the exact minute you entered this world thirty something years ago!

As I reflect on the past versions of myself I am so happy and appreciative of them for getting me to the point I am now.  I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy as I am at this moment with what’s to come in my new year of life. Am I in my dream career with a husband and kids? No. But the possibilities of life are exciting to me once again. I have limitless opportunities to travel and create the experiences I want for myself and that is quite the luxury.

Since I’ve been on this journey of self-discovery, I’m going to continue the theme and manifest this upcoming year. In this year, I will experience a few different types of romantic love. All teaching me something about myself and allowing me the space to continue to grow into the person I’ve always wanted to be-confident, secure, and most of all kind to myself. I’ll be creating so many experiences for my godchildren, even at their young age; traveling with friends and solo (again), and letting my mom into my life more now that I’m shedding the shame of failure.

To me, this year is about taking the bull by the mfin horns and staying true to my word, but also giving myself grace in case life life’s like it does. Don’t forget you are CAPABLE, CREATIVE, and BRILLIANT. Amen, Ashe.
