Throwback Post: My Fav 2022 Music Projects.
Music has been in an interesting space for quite a while, but I'm an R&B girlie first and foremost so I've been happy with the new artists so far. While I haven't listened to every single project that's dropped this year, there were quite a few that went double platinum in my house and car. As you can see I love a list, so here are 5 of my favorite projects from this year.

5) Renaissance
Let's be real, this list would be totally invalid if Renaissance wasn't on here (or anyone's list to be honest) so Imma just get it out of the way. For an album with no visuals even 6 months later and still doing numbers is insane! Even though Gizelle is really taking this "let the music speak for itself" a little too far, I'm riding with her. So while I wait on the tour dates to drop, I'll be revisiting this album and running Heated and America Has A Problem up yet again.
4) Heaux Tales Mo' Tales
Jazmine "The Grammy Award Winning" Sullivan did not disappoint with this deluxe album! Roster and Tragic were stand outs for me, but as a whole it's a beautiful body of work. She had a lil something on there for everybody and a nice little interlude to go along with each song. I'm looking forward to what's in store for Jazmine in 2023!

3) Before We Go (Deeper)
While we're on the subject of the Grammys, my guess is that India Shawn's nomination was lost in the mail. I've been meaning to get in touch with USPS because something ain't right with that. This album was released exactly when I needed to hear it. The intro alone made me want to run it back because of the message (which just happens to be part of that growth journey I'm on). Also, the vocals were vocalizing and I always love that.

2) What I Didn't Tell You
Coco Jones is the moment, babes and if you don't know you will. This EP was the perfect length and somehow not long enough. She made you want that old thing back (and even gave you a bit of the 90's girls with an SWV sample) in "Double Back" then made you want to grab the bat to confront a cheater on "Headline". Range.

1) The Lead
I think the best way to talk about this project is to quote a tweet that said "The spirit of Matthew Knowles is present in this room" because that's exactly what it's giving me, girl. And honestly there's nothing more you need to know, because you should be listening to them by now. They're definitely up next!
As KhaeNotBae says, "ya'll gon' jump me? Be honest." I'd love to know what your favorite 2022 listens were! Welp, that's all for now! Byeee.
